Speaking to IRNA, Hamid Nadgaran said the number of foreign students in Shiraz University increased from 90 students last year to 180 this year.
He also hailed the pace of the establishment of academic knowledge-based companies and startups in Shiraz over the last four years.
He noted that despite the coronavirus pandemic, Shiraz University did not stop its scientific interactions and held webinars to developing international relations.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Nadgaran referred to launching an office in Shiraz University to attract expert Iranian expatriates.
